Ability to engage in inclusive problem-solving (41-GE)

Students show 41-GE by actively engaging with stakeholders to help them solve a problem. This can include students collaborating with individuals outside of their assigned project groups or seeking input from a diverse range of perspectives to inform their understanding of and approach to a problem.

Define

Students might actively engage in inclusive problem-solving by:

  • Gathering input and/or data from people impacted by the problem being solved (e.g., conducting surveys to gather information about problems or about ideas for solutions)
  • Asking for feedback on how to improve an existing solution from people who will be impacted (When addressing global problems, this can involve anyone in the world who could be impacted.)
  • Working to solve problems with people outside of their project group
  • Asking for feedback to address a specific challenge
